Strengthening Resilience: The Philippines Response to Natural Disasters






Philippines is located in region prone to natural disaster due to its geographic location, faces frequent threats from typhoon, and volcanic eruptions. Climate change is making these disaster more common and severe. This has shown that the country needs to strengthen its disaster preparedness and resilience. The main reason of the problem includes the Philippines location along the pacific ring of fire and in the Typhoon belt. Because of this different kind of natural disaster the country become more strong.
In response to this challenges, the Philippines government along the various stakeholder, has implemented some strategies to enhance the nation’s resilience, The national Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC)played a crucial roles in the country by early warning system for the awareness of the people in the country and promoting community base disaster risk reduction programs. Furthermore, international cooperation and aid have played crucial roles in providing both technical and financial support for the initiatives. However, often met the limitations in resources and the need for more widespread public awareness and participation. These programs have a big contribution to the country by these given information people will be still updated in what happening in the country

Local communities in the Philippines have improved their disaster resilience by taking proactive measures in addition to governmental and international efforts. Local leaders and grassroots organizations have played a crucial role in creating a preparation culture by organizing frequent catastrophe exercises, educating the public about emergency protocols, and forming reaction teams at the local level. Disaster risk reduction has been incorporated into the curricula of educational institutions, guaranteeing that the youth of the Philippines are prepared to handle calamities. Furthermore, social media and technological use have greatly enhanced communication during disasters, enabling real-time coordination and updates. Local collaborations like this strengthen national strategies and make society more resilient to disasters.

The Golden Child

In the 25th of November 2008, a new member of the family was chosen to be the golden child in the family, golden child not because she’s the one who stood like a mother and a father to her siblings. The name of the girl was Catherine and that’s me. Why i am the mother and father of the family? One day, i just wake up and my feeling is unwell, my father was building a bed for my sister who’s pregnant, I helped him and then I get tired so I went to my grandfather’s house or our family house.
