Chinese New Year- A Filipino Celebration

 Many Filipinos celebrate Chinese New Year, even if they are not of Chinese descent.  This is because of a long history of Chinese people living in the Philippines and sharing their culture.  Chinese traders and immigrants came to the Philippines long ago, marrying Filipinos and becoming part of the community.  Over time, Chinese New Year traditions became part of Filipino culture, especially in places like Binondo in Manila, the oldest Chinatown in the world.


Filipinos love celebrating Chinese New Year because it's all about good luck, wealth, and family.  The bright colors, delicious food (like tikoy and hopia), fun dances, and the feeling of new beginnings are very appealing.  Giving ampao (lucky money) adds to the excitement and happiness.


Celebrating Chinese New Year also brings Filipinos together, regardless of their background.  It's a time for everyone to share traditions and build stronger relationships.  It shows how welcoming and diverse Filipino culture is.

What i have learned

 In this quarter i gained a lot of knowledge especially in the field of technologies. During the first quarter I learned about how to create a blog and until now I'm using it. 2nd quarter was very hard for me because there are many days that i can't go to class because of training in journalism but even though I didn't go to ma'am's class, I still did the activities and I learned a lot. The basic parts of HTML was presented by ma'am and I learned  a lot, first is the angle brackets <> and second the different kind of tags and more. But the most important is the applying the html tags into the article.   In the month of August , I read the contributions and some background of the pioneers and architects that have a contribute to Philippines, In my observation these pioneers have a big contribution to the entire world not only in the Philippines, because of these pioneers the world has a faster and bigger development. Also, I found that internet was found out in the Philippines on March 29, 1994, 10:18a.m. In the month of September, I learned a lot especially in blogging, we started creating drafts for our blog and we added photos so we will be ready to publish them. I gained more knowledge and I didn’t expect that making blog is easy to learn. However, some of the lessons was hard for me especially the internet timeline, sometimes i will not able to read the lesson because of the activities and project that given to us, and that causes lower score to me.
